“Orchestra of Samples” is a project of the collective and digital artists Addictive TV, that brings a world of musicians together digitally for a musical journey without borders. It is a unique project based on sampling recording sessions they have filmed over the last 12 years with nearly 300 musicians all over the world, from South America, Asia and the Middle East to North and West Africa and across Europe. They filmed pop-up recordings with musicians improvising on all kinds of instruments, from local traditional to contemporary and newly invented, which they then sampled to create new music. The result is a digital supergroup of international artists who, regardless of their musical or cultural background, have never met but now play together.
They are often accompanied by live guest musicians, creating an immersive mixed media experience. To provide insight into their work, Addictive TV have often participated in panel discussions and given talks and Q&As at festivals, conferences, colleges and online.
