Jim Ghedi is an artist with a unique talent for tapping into the rich history of folk music to create timely, political and contemporary alternative folk. He is perhaps the most direct and impactful example of this ability to date. Not only are the lyrics spot on - "What will become of England, if things go on this way / There's many a thousand working man, that's starving day by day" - but Ghedi's sound world has expanded to include a brooding, darker, more electronic tone to capture the visceral sound of the piercing lyrics.
