Bamerts & Landtwings Folk Jazz Horde
Folk Jazz
Expressive, improvisational, gripping,
The Folk Jazz Horde brings together outstanding exponents of the Swiss jazz scene and the new Swiss folk music scene. The tension between these two musical worlds provides fertile ground for new ideas for the five musicians and allows them a lot of freedom in their creativity. Their positive and open attitude is clearly evident during their stage performances and can be felt and heard in each of their pieces. The Folk Jazz Horde delights its audience with expressive original compositions, infectious joy of playing, impressive improvisations and boundless desire to experiment.
The musicians met during various engagements in musicals or theater productions in Zurich. Bernhard Bamert and Christian Niederer invited them to a musical exchange, where the spark jumped and it was decided to fan the flames further. The Horde's first gig took place on November 21, 2021 in a small jazz club in Zurich. That was the activating starting signal, and everything took its course.
On their first EP, the Folk Jazz Horde presents four pieces written by Bernhard Bamert and Mathias Landtwing, which convey a concise listening impression of the described musical field of tension.
